Technical Product Manager

Ad Lightning is hiring a Technical Product Manager to join one of the first startups out of Pioneer Square Labs. We’re on a mission to improve ad quality across the digital advertising ecosystem. Our tools give publishers and exchanges the insight and control they need to manage programmatic creative, eliminate bad ads, and maximize ROI.  This is an opportunity to get in at the ground floor of a rapidly growing business, utilize leading edge technology, and make meaningful contributions to the product lifecycle.

What you’ll do:

As our new Lead Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for our suite of Ad Quality products. You’ll be tasked with finding ways to increase revenue and usage of existing products, while also identifying new opportunities based on feedback, research, and ecosystem knowledge. This role will require in-depth technical knowledge and the ability to effectively work with both our customers and engineers.

  • Gain a deep understanding of customer needs. Identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that help grow market share, improve customer experience, and drive growth.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements.
  • Conduct market research, surveys, and customer/prospect visits to understand and specify business requirements to target market segments.
  • Analyze competitive offering to identify differentiators and set pricing.
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external stakeholders.
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
  • Create a habit forming product to be used by ad operations teams every day.

What you need to succeed:

We are looking for high performers who can get things done in a fast moving, high intensity environment. The Technical Product Manager should have created significant impact and grown rapidly in previous roles, whether in a technical or business role.

  • 3+ years of product management experience with enterprise software and SaaS products, ideally in the digital advertising space. Experience with programmatic, SSP, DSP, ad server, or audience data products is a BIG plus. Start-up experience also a plus.
  • Ability to define both market and product requirements, and work directly with engineers and architects to define and deliver solutions.
  • Must possess a solid business acumen, as well as the technical chops to strategize, drive, and bring version 1.0 products from concept to ship.
  • Proven UX skills, particularly when it comes to building analytics dashboards.
  • Solid understanding of customer needs, business goals, and competitive pressures, and the ability to convert those into product requirements and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical types. Must have crafted product collateral, including solution overviews and technical & business presentations. Must also have delivered sales enablement sessions.
